IN LIMBO
While I remain indecisive about a lighting pendant over the dining table, I found this $15 chandelier on craigslist and decided to paint it yellow in the interim. (Corey, if you come across something fantastic in all your hunting, please do share!) I sanded it down with 220-grit sand paper and then went for it. If I was to it again? I would have listened to my gut and not the employee at Lowes… PRIME it first. He told me that this spray paint wouldn’t need priming, but I think it would have made the color much more consistent. Anyway, it was a fun little project and added lots of light (and color) to my room.
{ what you need }
brass chandelier
painters tape (if you would like to keep the “candlesticks” white)
very-fine sandpaper (220-grit works well without damaging the brass)
cloth (to clean chandelier after sanding)
spray paint primer (make sure it works on metal/brass)
spray paint (make sure it works on metal/brass)
any electrical supplies you may need (electrical tape, wire cutters, etc.)

Looks great! I really like the yellow and would love to see what the rest of the room looks like.

funny…. I just painted the exact same chandelier (which was in the house when we moved in) the exact same color. I'm trying to decide if I should paint the brass ceiling plate yellow or white. I couldn't tell from your photos what you did.
