Let's support local. Who's with me?! Going to do my best to get up to LA this weekend for Unique LA. There are so many great vendors and artists, I kinda feel like I can't miss it. Anyone want to carpool?

p.s. They were featured on the Etsy Finds email newsletter yesterday, too! Hooray!

katie ridder rooms

07 November 2011

I'm excited to share the recently-released book, Katie Ridder Rooms, published by Vendome Press. I received an advance copy and have been oohing and ahhing over every inspirational page for the last few days. It has a delightful selection of Katie Ridder's brilliant balance of texture, color, pattern, and her mix antique and modern elements, as well as some insider tips and even a list of sources. As author Heather Smith MacIssac states, "Even the most traditional rooms feature something bright or bold or unorhthodox or curious. Underlying all the flair and the panache are interiors that work as hard as Katie does. Behind every flourish is a solid reason for being. Rooms are not only pretty and welcoming, they are comfortable and thoughtful."

The contents are organized by room type (entrances and stair halls, living rooms, studies and family rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and bathrooms) for a quick reference to your applicable space, but reads beautifully from start to finish. As if the dust jacket wasn't gorgeous enough, they have thoughtfully utilized Katie's patterns to accent the hard cover, spine, and title pages of each section. I highly recommend this book and think I may gift this to a few friends this holiday season. Happy Monday!

save the gin

Between the white painted stone walls, stained oak flooring, salvaged doors on the bar, and re-purposed drawers, the Bobby Gin Cocktail Bar is a textural gin bar haven. Wonderfully designed by Barcelona-based firm Normal.
