I know we’re headed into spring, but my cinderblock-walled apartment hasn’t received the memo. The Portland Collection‘s Fall 2013 sneak peeks have me wanting to snuggle under that blanket or layer on one of the gorgeous wool jackets.
Brooklyn-based collaborative wood shop Bellboy designs beautifully-simple, handmade furniture and accessories. The Harrison cabinet in black walnut is just so handsome; my apartment is calling out for one in the dining area. I also appreciate that Bellboy tries to utilize domestic timbers when possible, which echos their attentive and mindful approach.

Finally, it’s here; a West Elm in Orange County! We’ve been waiting with bated breath for the opening of West Elm in South Coast Plaza. The new store will have a three-sided living wall, an Etsy shop featuring local Orange County artists, and a shop-in-shop of West Elm Market.
Want to join in the celebration? The pre-opening party is Thursday, November 1st, from 6:30 to 8:30pm and a portion of the night’s proceeds will benefit Orange County Coastkeeper, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting and preserving the region’s marine habitats and watersheds. Hope to see you there!
Louise Roe has me swooning over their graphic home accessories—and clothing; a Danish black and white wonderland. If I ever travel to Scandinavia, I will have to get a crate to ship all my purchases home, starting with a trip to stock up on Louise Roe Design Essentials.
